Bella Hadid Spotlights Egyptian Jewellery House Azza Fahmy

Bella Hadid is no stranger to championing Middle Eastern designers – and this was no different during her recent takeover of Cannes.

The supermodel was spotted wearing pieces by Egyptian jewellery house Azza Fahmy. Throughout the years, the brand has become renowned across the region – and now, the Palestinian-Dutch supermodel brings the house further into the global spotlight.

The house is widely celebrated for its uniquely handcrafted pieces, inspired by centuries of Egyptian history and refined craftsmanship. Each piece presents as a work of art, reflecting the designer’s unwavering pride in her heritage. With a blend of traditional and modern artistry, the brand creates jewellery that is as rich in cultural depth as it is in contemporary design.

Designer Azza Fahmy made history as the first woman to train in Egypt’s jewellery quarter, Khan El Khalili. Her journey began in 1969, after she discovered a Middle Eastern design book that ignited her passion for jewellery making.

In Hadid’s case, she was seen wearing the brand’s Gold Garden of Happiness Choker. Part of its ‘Wonders of Nature’ collection, the piece features handcrafted depictions of blooming lotus flowers and Baladi roses, linked together by gleaming 18-carat gold. The choker takes the form of a radiant floral garland, anchored by Arabic calligraphy for the word ‘happiness’.

The model was also seen wearing the brand’s Echoes of Nature Ring. The intricate design further speaks to the brand’s longstanding commitment to expressing natural forms, adorned with a gleaming red gemstone encircled by shimmering diamonds and vibrant gold.

This is not the first time Hadid has paid homage to the house. She was previously seen wearing its Gold Rosette Necklace at The Artists for Aid concert – an event held to garner support for the people of Palestine and Sudan. She was also spotted wearing the Echoes of Nature gold bangle alongside the aforementioned ring in 2025.

It comes as little surprise to see the icon honour her roots. We can’t help but admire the Princess of Nazareth for her enduring pride in and appreciation of her Middle Eastern heritage.
