Greg James to host 38th annual Autosport Awards

The 38th annual Autosport Awards will be hosted for the first time by award-winning broadcaster and lifelong motorsport fan Greg James.

Best known as the host of BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show and co-host of The Fast and the Curious Formula 1 podcast, James brings a fan’s perspective alongside his trademark humour and energy to racing’s most influential night.

A Motorsport Network event, Autosport Awards is racing’s defining night, where ambition meets achievement and both champions and innovators are celebrated across Formula 1, MotoGP, Formula E, IndyCar, NASCAR, and more.

“It’s going to be really fun getting to host the Autosport Awards. I’ve been a few times as a guest, I kept bidding on things that I really couldn’t afford so it’ll be a relief to be kept well away from the auction,” said James. “It’s such an important event in the motorsport calendar which brings together so many champions from across the sport and it’s a real honour to get to host it.”

Motorsport Network is also teaming up with Daniel Mac, whose interviews and creator-first style have made him a standout voice across culture and motorsport. Mac will be on the ground at the Las Vegas Grand Prix capturing the pulse of the weekend and getting fans’ picks for this year’s Autosport Awards fan-voted categories.

It follows the launch of The Fan Vote, voting across eight headline categories, reflecting excellence, emerging talent, breakthrough performances, and the moments that shaped the global racing narrative.

New for 2026 is Creator of the Year, reflecting the surge of social engagement and fans becoming influential voices in the sport.

An additional new Award has also been opened: Team of the Year, recognising how success in racing goes far beyond the individual.

Other Autosport Awards in The Fan Vote include Driver, Rookie, Moment of the Year presented by Bahrain International Circuit, British Competition Driver, Competition Car and Rally Driver.

Voting for the Autosport Awards is now live, with the winners set to be revealed on 21 January 2026 at London’s Roundhouse.
