On Tuesday, 4 November, Chanel brought its Cruise 2025/26 collection to Singapore. And while its roots remain firmly in Paris, the show was a return to familiar shores for the Maison, which last staged a runway there in 2013.
This season, the creative studio team transported the dreamy glamour first unveiled at Lake Como’s Villa d’Este—just before Matthieu Blazy made his directorial debut with the Spring/Summer 2026 collection in September—to another storied hotel: Raffles Singapore. Rich in cinematic history and a shared sense of languid elegance, both presentations were beautifully bridged through the lens of friend of the House Sofia Coppola, who captured their essence in a nostalgic teaser film.
The collection itself is an ode to luxurious ease. Models floated through the tropical evening in shimmering trouser suits, lamé stripes, and sequinned sets, offering looks that blurred the line between daydream and balmy after-dark moments. Taffeta ball gowns were paired with long gloves, while white trousers, crochet and sailor stripes nodded to classic cruise codes. Accessories, too, told their own stories, with silk scarves tied at the wrist or ankle, oversized sunglasses, and pearls catching the light. In hands and over the shoulders were woven totes and classic flap bags in reimagined hues. It was, in true Chanel fashion, a study in balance, always romantic yet refreshingly practical.
After the show, guests gathered for a lively soirée soundtracked by British singer Raye, Indonesian trumpeter Rio Sidik, and Singaporean DJ Nicolette. Earlier that morning, the brand hosted a “Chanel Talk” with 420 local students, where Bruno Pavlovsky, Tilda Swinton, Margaret Zhang, and others discussed the crosscurrents of local and global creativity.
From Lake Como to Singapore, the message is clear: travel, in the Chanel world, is as much about atmosphere as destination.
