You Just *Might* Be Using Your Eye Creams Wrong

The biggest mistake is using too much. A small, pea-sized amount is generally enough for both eyes. Rubbing or tugging the skin is another no-no; use your ring finger to gently tap product into the skin, applying it around the orbital bone rather than directly along the lash line, where it can migrate into the eyes and cause irritation. And, as with all skincare, consistency matters. Eye products work best when incorporated into a regular routine.

Absolutely. Apply your eye product to cleansed, dry skin before the rest of your skincare. Face products can contain higher concentrations of active ingredients than their eye-area counterparts, so applying them first can increase the risk of irritation. If you’re using both an eye serum and cream, apply the serum first, followed by the cream. Then continue with your usual moisturiser and SPF.

Remember: the eye area is small. More product doesn’t mean better results. With well-formulated, clinically tested skincare, less really is more.
