Four-time Formula 1 champion Sebastian Vettel is present at the Brazil Grand Prix this weekend.
After retiring from the championship at the end of the 2022 season, the German driver has worked to raise awareness of various social and environmental issues.
He returns to Interlagos to raise awareness of protecting the Amazon rainforest.
"I’m back in Brazil," Vettel explained on Instagram. "Last year I travelled here to see and discover the Amazon rainforest, meet the indigenous people. I was very welcomed to their home. I saw how beautiful it is and how diverse and rich it is, but I also saw how fragile it is and how urgent it is to protect it. Now, this year, I’m coming back.
"And with F①REST - drawn together, I want all of us to draw a tree. All the drivers, fans, kids, old people, young people, people from different backgrounds. Everyone is invited to draw their very own tree and collecting them.

"And many trees make forests and make our beautiful diverse F1 forests. That’s why I’m here and that’s what I’m trying to do. Trying to raise awareness only by seeing how rich and full of life these ecosystems are, we can start to care. And if we start to care, we can heal."

The former Red Bull driver previously helped to remove litter following the 2021 British Grand Prix, worked with children in Austria to build a bee hotel, and in 2023 opened a second bee hotel at Suzuka, the home of the Japanese Grand Prix.
In addition to those ventures, Vettel hosted an all-women karting event during the 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, wore the Pride flag at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix and later appeared on the cover of Attitude, sharing his support for an LGBTQ+ driver in F1 in 2022.
Vettel also raced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2024 in the 1992 Williams FW14B, running on sustainable fuels as part of the Race Without Trace campaign. "I’m a passionate racer and it’s important to me that we continue to enjoy driving iconic racing cars today and in the future, but that we do so in a responsible way," he said at the time.
